These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") set out the basis on which Sable Compass provides advisory services and operates this website. By engaging our services or using this website, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. About Us

Sable Compass is a hospitality and F&B operations advisory firm based at 1-3-7, Gurney Paragon, Persiaran Gurney, 10250 George Town, Penang, Malaysia. We provide advisory and consultancy services to café and restaurant owners, hospitality operators, and F&B group directors. We do not provide regulated professional services such as legal, financial, medical, or architectural advice.

2. Our Services

The services we offer — including the Service Flow Review, Menu & Operations Tune-Up, and Multi-Outlet Operations Programme — are general operational advisory services. They are delivered on the basis of observation, discussion, and professional experience. Our recommendations are advisory in nature. Decisions about whether and how to implement any recommendation remain entirely with the client.

We do not represent or imply that following any recommendation will produce a specific business outcome. Operational results depend on many factors outside our control, including staffing, market conditions, and how recommendations are implemented.

3. Engagement Terms

Scope agreement

Before any paid engagement commences, we will agree with you in writing (by email or a signed engagement letter) on the scope of work, fees, and expected deliverables. Commencement of work constitutes acceptance of the agreed scope and fee.

Fees and payment

Fees are as stated in the agreed engagement scope. Payment terms will be set out in the engagement confirmation. We reserve the right to pause work if agreed payment milestones are not met.

Cancellation

If you wish to cancel an engagement after work has commenced, reasonable costs incurred up to the cancellation date may be payable. Specific cancellation provisions will be noted in your engagement confirmation where relevant.

4. Confidentiality

We treat all client information — including details about your venue's operations, staffing, menu, financial performance, and business direction — as strictly confidential. We will not disclose client-specific information to any third party without your consent, except as required by law.

We ask that you similarly treat any proprietary frameworks, templates, or approaches we share with you as confidential to your own use and not for redistribution.

5. Intellectual Property

Any written reports, frameworks, playbooks, or other documents we produce for you as part of an engagement are prepared for your use. Ownership of those deliverables transfers to you upon full payment of the associated engagement fee. Our underlying methodologies, tools, and approaches remain our intellectual property.

The content on this website — including text, layout, and design — is owned by Sable Compass. You may not reproduce it without our written permission.

6. Limitation of Liability

Our advisory services are provided in good faith based on what we observe and are told. We are not liable for business outcomes, financial losses, staff decisions, or operational changes that arise from the implementation (or non-implementation) of our recommendations. Our liability in any engagement is limited to the fee paid for that engagement.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud or for any matter that cannot be excluded by law.

7. Website Use

This website is provided for informational purposes. We make reasonable efforts to keep it accurate and current but do not warrant that all information is complete or error-free. We reserve the right to update or remove content at any time without notice.

You must not use this website in any way that is unlawful, harmful, or disruptive to others.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising from these Terms or from an engagement with Sable Compass shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page, with the "Last updated" date revised accordingly. Continued use of the website or our services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
